Hanging Christmas Tree

Materials:

  • 3 Bigger pieces of Christmas fabric (green felt)
  • 1 smaller piece of fabric for tree trunk (brown/black)
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Batting
  • 2 small bows
  • Cord/string for hanging up the tree
  • Some small Christmas decorations (optional)

Procedure

  1. Cut 3 squares of Christmas fabric:
    first: 2 ¼ inch
    second: 2 ½ inch
    third: 2 2/4 inch

  2. Fold each square into a triangle.

  3. Place a small amount of batting in the middle of triangle to give each section a little fullness.

  4. Glue two sides of triangle together (like an apple turnover)

  5. Glue the tip of the middle triangle behind the smallest one.

  6. Glue the tip of the largest one behind the middle one.

  7. Cut a small piece of different color fabric (about 1 inch square).

  8. Make a small tube and glue together.

  9. Glue to the bottom of the tree for trunk.

  10. Embellish the tree with a small bow at the top and bottom.

  11. Pull through a cord so the tree may be hung up.

  12. Of course you can decorate your little tree more with sequins, ribbons, tinsel, etc… or pin Christmas cards onto it and use it as a Christmas card holder.
