A Christmas Color-Scheme for Your Room

Christmas Color Schemes  |  'Red and White' Scheme  |  'Simply White' Scheme

Colors decide the look of a room. When you choose color for your walls, upholstery, cushions, bed spreads etc., you begin the process of giving the room it's own character. What better way to define a 'Christmas' look for for your room than using a Festive color scheme?

Some Beautiful Christmas Color Schemes

Though limited only by your own imagination, samples for some great Color Schemes for Christmas/Holidays are:

  • Red and Green
  • Red and White
  • Red, White and Gold
  • White and Gold
  • Royal Blue and Gold
  • Royal Blue and White
  • Simply White
  • Burgundy and Gold
  • Purple and Gold

Bundle out your pastels and save them for Spring Decorating. Rich and Vibrant colors will give your rooms the desired 'Christmas' look.

How to use these colors?

Once you decide upon which color scheme you want to use, start thinking about how to embed it in your room.

If you are lucky, you might have some linen or upholstery exactly matching your chosen scheme! But if you don't, there are plenty of ways left. Fabric is not the only medium to embed a color scheme into your room. Candles, centerpieces, flowers and other decorations can complete the look.

An important thing to keep in mind is that for any color scheme that you choose, you do not necessarily have to use everything that you can lay your hands on. Keep the decoration such that the individual effect of each item does not get lost amidst a crowd of other items. In other words, do not overdo it.

Here are two examples to get you started:

> The 'Simply White' look
