Christmas Festival Party Theme
This fun Christmas party theme is tons of fun for adults and
kids alike. While there are no set rules when it comes to throwing
a great Christmas festival, you'll of course want to keep things
colorful and festive! Here are some tips to help you host a fun
festival that your guests will love:
Invitations
Give your invitations a little something extra by handwriting them
on colorful Christmas stationery. Write the theme of the party,
date, time, and location. Rather than using an envelope, roll them
into scroll form, tie with a festive ribbon and tape on a
miniature candy cane. Hand deliver your invitations or have
someone deliver them for you. If you must mail them in an
envelope, you should probably leave out the candy cane as it could
get broken during the delivery process.
Decorations
Think traditional Christmas colors – red, green, silver and gold.
Put up a real or artificial tree but don't decorate it – leave
that for your party guests! Fill a large box with assorted
ornaments and provide tinsel and garland. Place snowmen and Santa
figurines around the room, and even try some fake snow around the
bottom of the tree.
Food
Christmas cookies, of course! Try other party favorites like
Swedish meatballs, crudités and dip, cheese puffs, sausage balls,
and crackers with a variety of gourmet cheeses. Make two different
kinds of punches – one red, one green. Provide champagne for the
grownups and sparkling cider or grape juice for the children.
Activities
Tree decorating is a fun activity all the guests can get into.
Have each guest choose an ornament from the box and place it on
the tree. Try fun games like Christmas Carol Charades, Pin the
Nose on the Snowman, Candy Cane Relay, and Santa Says. Provide art
supplies for the kids (and adults) and have them craft Santa masks
and reindeer antlers. Fill a jar with festive candies and have
guests play Guess How Many – with the winner taking home the jar
of candy!
More Tips
Keep plenty of trashbags around so guests can discard their empty
plates and utensils. Keep things in stations for easy cleanup and
organization. And recruit a guest or two to help you clean up
afterwards! One fun idea – give each guest a disposable camera and
let them capture their own memories from the party, and don't
forget to take plenty of pictures yourself!
