Christmas Breads
Round Raisin Nut Bread
Make this for homemade gift-giving or serve it for a breakfast
brunch. It is sure to be a great hit.
Ingredients:
2 cups raisins
2 cups water
2 tsp. soda
2 eggs
1 1/2 sups sugar
dash salt
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 cups flour
1 cup chopped walnuts
Method:
Combine raisins, water, and soda, bring to a boil. When mixture
begins to foam, remove from heat, cool. Beat together eggs,
sugar, salt, and vanilla, add the raisin mixture alternately
with flour to egg mixture, fold in nuts.
Pour into four well greased No. 2 cans. Bake in moderate oven
of 350 for about one hour.
