Frosty's Wall Basket - Free Snowman Christmas Basket Pattern

Materials

11/64″ FO – lasher
3/8″ FF – weavers
5/8″ FF – 1 dyed weaver approx. 24″
Seagrass
Snowman or Christmas Tree Basket Buckle ®
1/4″ FF – weavers (natural and dyed)
3/8″ FO – rims
5/8″ FF – spokes
1 – 3″ Bushel Ash O/N

Pattern:

Using 5/8″ FF, cut 3 spokes @ 22″, and 7 spokes @ 18″.

Layout the 3 horizontal spokes, then weave in the 7 vertical spokes making sure the center vertical spoke is OVER the center horizontal spoke. Adjust the base to measure 6 3/4″ x 2 1/2″. Weave in a “holding row” of 1/4″ FF, mitering the corners. Upset the spokes and weave the following rows of start and stop:

4 rows 3/8″ FF
1 row 1/4″ FF dyed
1 row 5/8″ FF dyed (your Basket Buckle ® will be over the center spoke.)
1 row 1/4″ FF dyed
10 rows 1/4″ FF

Pack well. Cut and tuck the spokes. Insert the bushel handle on back of basket. You may wish to thin it down somewhat. Rim with 3/8″ FO, seagrass between rims, and lash with 11/64″ FO.

Note: 1/4″ FF dyed reed can be added as overlays on the natural spokes on the front of the basket.
